I’ll find any excuse to drive down to Los Gatos, one of the cutest towns in the Bay.
I knew and loved this town long before we lived out here, because some of our
best family friends live out here and we would visit them all growing up.
Little did I know that we’d end up living close by it and loving it even
more! We hadn’t been down since the start of summer, so we went
swimming at our cute friend’s house and then went to dinner.
We tried out the new Catamount right in Old Town! It has
the same owner as the Presidio Social Club in SF, so it has
a classy and similar vibe, but is also family friendly and has
a fun local location since it replaced California Café. It’s in
a beautiful spot with a patio shaded by huge trees, and perfect
for strolling around downtown LG after a fun lunch or dinner.
Grilled stone fruit panzanella with burrata ^^ Can’t go wrong with a dish like this!
We tried the Crudo of the day, which was the most flavorful ahi dish.
Someone was a fan! ^^
We took a little stroll around the patio in between courses because
dining with a one-year-old requires things like that ;)
Little tree-hugger ;)
The chef sent out some mussels in white wine sauce, which was
fun because I normally wouldn’t order these but they were delicious
(I could drink that delicious sauce straight) and this dish reminds me of France!
My entreé of choice was the Sautéed Local Petrale Sole fish with
lemon butter sauce, mashed potatoes and greens. Light and delicious.
Chase had the Brandt Ranch Skirt Steak which I had more than a few bites of too.
Of course we had to end with a berry & stone fruit cobbler, and
R’s face shows how we all felt about it -ha! Pure focus, and pure happiness!
Thanks for having us in, Catamount!
This restaurant is fun for a special occasion night out,
or would be great for lunch with friends out on the terrace.
Like I said, we’ll take any chance to go to Los Gatos!
And the late summer sunset on the drive back up the Peninsula ^^
