chicken cranberry wreath
guys! this is my favorite christmas
dinner. you can either use leftover
turkey, or chicken for this festive &
delicious dish. this recipe is from my
mom and making it this december 
made me miss her over in south africa!
but–it also made me feel like christmas
and it tasted better than i remember.
it also looks so good but is ten times
easier than it looks… so i had to share!

  • 2 cups chopped cooked chicken {or turkey!}
  • 2 {8 oz} packages refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 1 1/4 cups shredded swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced celery
  • 1/2 cup dried sweetened cranberries
  • 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt {can sub mayonnaise}
  • 2 tablespoons honey dijon mustard {optional}
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg white, lightly beaten
  • preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • in a large bowl combine turkey, 1 cup of the swiss cheese, celery, cranberries, greek yogurt, mustard and black pepper. mix it and set aside.
  • unroll the 2 packages of crescent rolls & separate into 16 triangles in a circle. {the easiest is a circular pizza pan/stone, but if you don’t have one you can use a cookie sheet like i had to this time.} 
  • on the pan, arrange the crescent triangles alternating directions. points can extend off the edge of the pan. fill in the rest of the crescents, matching wide ends with points. don’t worry if it overlaps in the center.
  • using a small rolling pin to roll over the seams so you have a flat surface for the filling. *don’t seal the center triangles.
  • scoop the filling evenly over the dough making a circle.
  • begin with the last triangle you placed in the center of the pizza pan — bring the point of the triangle straight across  the filling. then, bring point of the opposite outside triangle diagonally across filling, covering the point of previous triangle. some filling will show, but just keep overlapping it! {see the picture below}
  • continue, overlapping all the points of the inside and outside triangles to form a wreath. tuck the last end under the first.
  • brush the top of the wreath with the beat egg white.
  • sprinkle the top with your remaining 1/4 cup cheese.
  • bake for 25-30 minutes until it’s golden brown. enjoy!
 so there you have it!

 week together before heading home for the
holidays. and of course i included my christmas
