utah summer 2020
we had an unexpectedly long, but much needed visit to utah this summer! it was such a respite after months of COVID quarantine in california.. we finally drove out to utah once things lightened up a bit in both places (before surging again once we were there!). originally this summer we had a trip planned through the great lakes with our little family, then flying from michigan straight to utah for 2 weeks to see family. when all of that changed, we went to salt lake a lot earlier and ended up spending 6 weeks (!!!) there with family. it was so special and although it was more low-key than normal with COVID, a LOT happened for us during our time there. chase and i escaped for a few days to drive down to southern california and ended up buying a home and making moving plans for august! still wrapping my head around it all but i know that it wouldn’t have happened without our ability to come, reset, detach from our life in the bay, and realize what was right for our next step. aside from that, it was just so special and memorable to go slow down and soak up family and utah summer during this year with our two girlies before baby boy joins. we relaxed and enjoyed and it all went so fast with chase working (he’s normally on full vacation there but with the length of time and COVID, he was working and we were more just living there all summer!) thanks to our incredible parents who welcomed and took such good care of us, and to the friends we were able to safely see for giving us a dose of home and happiness. we also made it up to the tetons for such a refreshing taste of our favorite beautiful place as a family. we’ll never forget this summer!
