This Easter was so special despite seeming like it would not be, given our quarantined COVID circumstances. For me, it simplified it so beautifully and made us focus on mainly what the holiday is about: the incredible fact that our Savior overcame the grave and rose above it, for US. What He did for us gives us knowledge that is life-changing. It helps us know that no matter what happens, our Savior has felt every hardship and pain and has taken them away in the end. It was powerful to spend this Easter focusing on our Savior, eating special occasion food, and following the fun traditions with our two little girls that made them love this holiday too :)
We woke up and had quiche + bunny pancakes with coconut syrup, opened some simple little baskets and had a church program before talking to family. Later the girls skipped through the grass in the back finding their little pastel eggs, and it was so fun and cute to watch them. They are in such a fun stage and I am soaking up time with just these two little sissies before baby boy joins! Rea was so cute finding them all and directing Claire to some, and Claire’s age is the best to watch them realize what is in the eggs they are collecting..haha! At that point she just stopped, sat in the grass and enjoyed her treats and toys. We made a yummy dinner of chicken cordon bleu, caprese salad, homemade bread and carrot cake.
Happy Easter! So grateful to have had a meaningful holiday as a highlight in the midst of all of this. We have hope and peace, thanks to Him! He is risen. ♥️
