Memorial Day Weekend 2018!

Memorial Day Weekend 2018!

Memorial Day weekend was a lovely start to summer!
It’s such a special weekend that honors those we’ve lost…
especially those who have fought for our country, which I
take for granted way too often. So glad there is a day set aside
to honor all those who make our country livable and peaceful.
I always love to kick off summer and celebrate with family & friends.
This year we road tripped to Sequoia National Park for the weekend,
explored Fresno / Old Town Clovis on the way in and out, and made it
back in time to enjoy the Monday off at the best barbecue with friends!
It was such a good weekend and I can’t believe we’re almost to June!!Scenes from Sequoia! ^^ (More here)
Fun road trip in our new car Chase surprised me with on Friday before we left!
We’ve been looking at options to upgrade for baby #2 and he found a great one! ^^
(I was kind of unsure that we were taking it on a road trip first thing but also so happy haha :)
Fun to explore with this little park ranger ^^
Small town flea market! ^^
Baby girl shopping ^^
Lunch and shopping together really made it feel like vacation ^^
Roadside fruit stands all along our drive ^^
Pink trucks, palm trees + painted nails :) ^^
A major highlight of our road trip was getting to stop at our FAVORITE Cafe Rio! Can’t get enough.
Swimming at the hotel pool was a highlight for this little one ^^
Flower spotting!
A stop to see the Fresno temple and one more Rio for the road on our way home ^^
Back in time on Monday to bake up some cake and tarte for a barbecue with our friends!
Definitely indulged this weekend on our road trip and at the BBQ!
Best spread at our friend Steph’s house ^^
Best backyard of our friends, and this water slide bounce house ?! The kids were loving life!
Happy girl on the swings ^^

Three cheers for road trips, new national parks, roadside fruit stands, time
together as a little family, and barbecues with friends! Feeling grateful in every way!

  • Love seeing all the fresh produce at the farmer’s markets! The one near me doesn’t open until next weekend.
Congrats on the new car….I think the road trip thing was more important with older model cars. My dad always took his new cars on a long drive, and I do it now too.

    • yes! it’s the super simple one listed at the very bottom of this post!
