Oakland Temple Outing

Whenever we are heading up to Oakland I feel like I need to make multiple plans
in the East Bay since we are making the drive. We’re there the most to visit our
church’s temple since it’s the closest one (and such a beautiful one) and so
we usually plan a fun meal or adventure in the East Bay to do with it.
The Oakland Temple is closing soon for a long time for renovations, so
we went up with some friends and traded off babysitting so we could all go.
It was so nice and truly the most beautiful day in the Bay which made it even better!
We loved our visit here, walked the grounds with Rea, and had worked up an appetite
by the time we left. One of the best places to head when you’re hungry is Berkeley!
Right in the “gourmet ghetto” you can find so many good restaurants,
and we love to try new ones. We stopped into Nico’s 1508 for some brunch!
It’s described as “American Farm Fresh,” which is so up our alley. It’s a
cute little tucked-away spot with a cozy inside…and the prettiest rooftop patio!
I could not decide if I was in the mood for breakfast or lunch — so thank goodness for brunch!
Everything was so delicious and thankfully Chase will always share, so I got a taste of both :)
We ordered the crispy brussel sprouts (so yum with the pine nuts + balsamic reduction), crab
benedict, egg white scramble, and baby kale caesar salad with salmon. YUM to all.
Feeding Dada!
Crab cake benedict ^^ Just look at the fluff on those eggs, and that creamy hollandaise.
Yummy egg white scramble for baby R ^^ with the best roasted potatoes!
Baby kale caesar for me with salmon added, and that grana padano ^^
The best part was the sweet pups right outside the restaurant.
Reagan was obsessed and went out to see them a few times
during our meal :) After brunch we strolled darling Berkeley.
Always fun to be up here!
