Presidio Date Night

Presidio Date Night

Last weekend we took a day trip to Sonoma to celebrate a friend’s baby shower,
and on the way home we stopped through the city to break up the drive and
go on a little walk around the Palace of Fine arts at sunset, (so beautiful)
and then we went to dinner at such great little hidden gem in the Presidio:
Arguello!
Before dinner we had to stroll around to work up our appetites. We stopped right near the Presidio at the Palace of Fine Arts in the Marina – always a favorite. Watching the pretty swans! ^^And making some new friends :)
It was such a gorgeous time of night with the prettiest weather.
Over to the Presidio! I love the quiet and calm here.
Arguello is tucked right in the center of the Presidio, to the side of the Presidio Officers’ Club.
It’s such a nice setting and would be lovely for visitors or locals. The food is so good and
unique- it has a Mexican theme but with unique California style fusion.
We started with chips, house made guacamole and salsa. SO GOOD of course!
This one took over the bowl of guacamole pretty quickly :)
I loved every bite of this beet salad with arugula, pistachios, orange, sesame seeds & shallot vinaigrette.
Can’s wait to re-create it at home!
Next out was brussels sprouts with chili lime butter. Delicious.
Chase had the crab enchiladas and loved them. Their Mexican food tastes like a
fusion with healthy and delicious California flavors which we loved.
The other entrée we tried was the short ribs with sweet potato pureé, mushrooms, cipollini onions, and jus.
It was surprisingly incredible — so tender and flavorful. We’d both order again.

Next time I want to try the Al Pastor Pineapple tacos and the plantains with cotija and black bean crema.
And, we were too full for dessert this time but the menu is amazing: flan with berries, corn cake,
churros with chocolate sauce, etc. I seriously can’t wait to come back here again!
Filling out the check ;) ^^
We enjoyed the pretty lit up patio and fire before heading home.
Thanks for having us in, Arguello! We’ll be back for sure.
