Last Day in Kona

Last Day in Kona

Every time we fly out of Kona we’ve always taken the red-eye so that we
have a last full day in paradise and then spend the 6+ hours at night.
It’s a little ironic to get home from a relaxing trip in paradise feeling exhausted,
but this time was especially worth it because all the kiddos slept the
entire flight. Plus, we had a fun last day in Kona town going to the
beach one more time, strolling town, having a fun dinner right over
the ocean and grabbing pineapple froyo before heading to the airport.
Fun to be in Kona town, all decked out for Christmas!
Saying goodbye to the Hawaiian beaches on our last day! ^^
Although we love going to our beaches in California, Hawaiian
beaches have their own special feel. (And a LOT warmer water ;)
Fun with papa at Magic Sands Beach right outside Kona!
Chase and I actually had our engagement photos taken here 5 years ago.
Sandy sunscreen application and Rea trying on my flip flops ^^
Best guys I know ^^
Stud husband!
Post-beach showers ^^
^^ And post shower cuddles
^^ Her face when I told her we had to leave Hawaii ;)
After packing up and getting our last beach fill, we headed to an early dinner
right in downtown Kona. We ate at Island Lava Java overlooking the ocean.
It was the perfect yummy Hawaiian meal to end the trip on in a beautiful setting.
…with the best company!
Guava ribs with pineapple salsa…  A M A Z I N G! These might have
been the table favorite. You can get them as an app or an entrée size.
Poke of course, because…When in Hawaii! So fresh and so good good.
Fish tacos — another must in Hawaii! I loved the taro tortillas and sweet potato fries with them.
A burger for good measure – and hand cut fries.
And their special pork chop with the BEST cherry XX topping. Still dreaming of that.
Last, we ordered one of their pizzas – Kalua pork. Favorite. Don’t miss this menu item here!
Walking the ocean wall with Papa after dinner ^^ And a stroll through town in search of ice cream.
We settled on the best froyo place right next door with all local Hawaiian flavors!
Kona Coffee, Coconut Cream, Dole Whip, etc!! So good that Reagan was
trying to sneak some of her cousin’s :)
And then trying to get some from my mom ^^ even though she’d already had some with me ha!
We soaked up our last moments before heading to the airport, then we were off!

10 PM flight back to the mainland, here we go!

Aloha isn’t quite as fun when it means goodbye :(
