Normandy Hotel, DC
During our DC stay we opted to stay in Dupont Circle.
We lived on the opposite side of the city when we were
interns here, so we thought it would be a fun spot to
spend more time in this visit. We stayed at the charming
boutique Normandy Hotel among all of the embassies,
and just minutes from Dupont! I loved it because it felt
like we were right back in Europe with the style of this place.
We spend more time in hotels now that we’re traveling with
our babe, so I care even more about finding good ones. It
used to be that we’d basically just sleep in any cheap hotel
and be go-go-go all day long anywhere we went, but now it’s
nice to have more of a home base to relax in, let baby nap,
and spread out in. The Normandy was perfect for this!
Reagan felt right at home in this French hotel…
…especially thanks to the cute little crib they had waiting! ^^
I love that now some of our favorite moments on a trip
are ones like these, just spent hanging at the hotel ^^
^^ Just relaxing after the drive in from Charlottesville!
We did make our way out plenty though…
After a total Euro style breakfast each morning ^^
We hit the gorgeous fall streets!
We were in such a beautiful part of town,
and even better that it bordered Georgetown.
We bundled up our first night and walked down to eat at
Mission Dupont, a restaurant I was anxious to try because
we could never find any good Mexican food when we lived
here before. I’m happy to say that is no longer the case!
Always good to start off with some house-made guac + chips.
The fajitas won the night for me ^^
So extra flavorful, and cooked just how I like them.
The house steak burrito was great too —
I’m hungry again now seeing these pictures!
^^ This one was so good during dinner, and we loved
seeing our friend Pete and catching up here! I would
definitely come back, and I’m glad we have a good solid
Mexican food spot in DC :) So much good food in this city!
Let us never forget dessert…the homemade tres leches was a hit.
Back to the hotel for a warm bath + bundling up in jammies! ^^
Thanks to the Normandy DC for welcoming us
and making our stay with baby so great!
