Charming and lively Charlottesville would already have been on our list
of places to visit on our Virginia trip, but it became even more so
because of some of our favorite friends living there right now! As we knew people here already, we were able to get a number of recommendations when it came to things to see and do. But if this isn’t the case, doing some exploring could be worth considering, to see what this city has to offer. In terms of general services, it may be worth checking out sites like https://findahomeincharlottesvilleva.com/local-services/ for more information.
Our amazing friends Joe and Becca live in this fun town right now
while Becca is at UVA law school! After living together for a year in
San Francisco (haha yes, we shared a 2 bedroom apartment to
hack the insane rent prices :) we feel so bonded to them and
have missed them! We were so happy that our trip could
include a stop to see their life and have baby hang out with them!
^^ Walking the beautiful University of Virginia Campus.
It is one idyllic college campus, oh my goodness!
It made me want to be back in college…especially when
we walked down their Greek Row and the ChiOs were
outside and invited us in to see their house — haha! We
felt so old but it was gorgeous walking around. We’re proud
to know its top law student Becca who showed us around!
We did the downtown mall area with all of its cute shops + restaurants ^^
Then went over to Joe & Becca’s!! ^^
I think Reagan got her fair share of attention :)
Love these two so much, and so fun to see their darling place here.
They live in the cutest studio loft right downtown…goals!
So cool to see the campus that Jefferson designed ^^
Baby Reagan’s personal courier service ^^
Joe & Chase drinking some fresh apple cider on UVA campus ^^
There were so many downtown Charlottesville restaurants — they had everything from South African inspired cuisine to traditional US fast food restaurants so we’re definitely going back because one night at one restaurant just wasn’t enough! I was spoilt for choice and honestly spent way too long deciding where to go! We had an AMAZING C-Ville dinner at Maya Restaurant.
It’s local Southern food and was our favorite meal in Virginia.
Local chicken breast with country ham gravy for me, and
ribs for Chase. Our side choices were broccoli, sweet potato
fries, mac & cheese, & caramelized onion cheddar drop biscuits.
Everything was so simple and so quality. We LOVED it all!
We took dessert to go, and I will just leave you with their dessert
menu because it alone will make you want to go to Cville ASAP!
Honey & sea salt cheesecake with fresh plum & ginger..
Mississippi Mud Pie, local apple & pear crumble, and
a pecan pie with salted caramel. I know, drool-worthy!We had such a great time in Charlottesville.
See Monticello and Michie’s Tavern here,
and Carter Mountain Orchard here!
