Visiting Chase’s hometown: Lynchburg, VA!
Our Virginia trip had to include a stop through the place where
Chase was born…Lynchburg! His family lived there until he was
5, and I’ve always wanted to go back and visit with him.
I knew it would be fun to see, but I had no idea how charming the
town is on its own! Add in the fact that he was born there and it
made for such a special and fun stop. We were able to see the
gorgeous hospital where he was born, visit his childhood home,
and explore the fun town for a day. It was even more fun to have
Reagan along and realize Chase was once her age in this place!
Entering Lynchburg after a beautiful countryside drive from Richmond ^^
This town! I was loving it from the second we drove down Main Street.
It was so meaningful to drive up to this beautiful hospital
and realize Chase came into the world here. Now that we’ve
experienced having a baby ourselves, it means so much more!
Also, he definitely wins the birth hospital game.
Who knew a hospital could be so pretty?
So sweet to bring his own babe back here ^^
From there, it was on to his family’s house down the road…
Of course he knocked on the door and became best friends with
the new owners, ha! They were so sweet and invited us in for
an hour to see the whole house, tell stories, and chat. They
are actually the same people who bought the house from
Chase’s family over 20 years ago. We loved the house tour!
Nicest couple showing us all over the house (if you follow me
on snapchat you saw how cute they were taking us around! :)
We headed down to the Historic District for lunch afterwards..
At the cutest Depot Grille, set right on the James River
on a historic rail depot filled with amazing antiques.
The cutest lunch dates ^^
Virginia has their own take on Southern food that we loved.
We had to try their famous battered chicken tenders + slaw.
They were amazing, especially with the sauce!!
Peanut butter pie ended things on a high note.
(Their dessert menu was unreal!)
We walked lunch off afterwards before hopping
in the car on the way to Charlottesville!
We loved visiting, and it didn’t hurt that
J.Crew’s headquarters are here either!
Thanks for being born in such a cool place, Chase!
(Or should I say Blake & Shel ;)
