Snippets of September
September is such a good transitional month
that completes summer and tees up to fall.
It’s the end and beginning of so many things,
and it always gives me a fresh start + boost of
productivity (maybe because it was always the
beginning of new school years!). We definitely
packed this one full as we began to have a lot
more outings with baby, took some little trips, and
made the transition between seasons. With October
starting tomorrow I feel like we’ve officially kissed
summer goodbye and are feeling more than ready for fall!
We started the month out very summery on
a Labor Day trip to Southern California.
I got to take her to one of my favorite places on earth, Laguna! ^^
Baby did well on her first flights, which is good
because we have some more coming up in October!
Between getaways I stocked up on lots of good summer
produce at Costco. We were enjoying peaches, avos,
and beets all month long. Another good Costco find
lately: Kasia’s Potato & Cheese Pierogi. Reminded me
of some amazing pierogi meals in Russia & Poland!
Yummy cheese plate made by the Hammels
for our weekly dinner with them. Delish!
Our Utes came to play in the bay at SJSU,
and it was SO fun to take Reagan to her first
Utes game! We won, and get to see them play
again at Cal tomorrow. We love our Utah football
and it’s even more fun to take baby Reagan along!
I saw this and knew I had to have it within ten seconds.
This rarely happens, but I fell in love and now it’s in our room! :)
^^ Baby R is a fan of it too!
We’ve had a few friends stop through town this month.
It was so fun to see Pat during his business trip and chat,
especially because he just had a little baby boy a month before us!
Sam came in town too! So fun to have our cute friends meet baby ^^
Here’s what happens when I leave baby with the boys… ^^
I laughed hard when I came back to see R in her shades!
The cutest friend Sarah dropped off this bag of
fall Trader’s treats. Cutest idea and I adore her!
Reagan’s new obsession this month has been her bunny friends.
She holds one in each arm and smiles so big with both!
I’m loving zucchini noodles lately to get my “pasta” fix in
a healthier way! (I always make up for it with extra parm ;)
Lately I’ve become obsessed with making my own salads at home.
I always crave a huge salad at lunchtime but it’s always easier
to eat something unhealthy and quick. I stocked up on lots of
good ingredients to make the best salads at home and I’m hooked! Target totally got me with their cute pumpkins, candles,
and every flavor of pumpkin cereal. Yes, please!
My little rule for myself is I pick out a new treat to try every
time I go to Trader Joe’s. It’s an unhealthy habit, but a
fun one! These salted caramel coconut cookies were pretty
good, and the pina colada ice cream we make is the very best!
Love this cuddlebug ^^
Homemade acai bowls & homemade cobb salads…
two things I always buy, but finally made!
Best heavenly ice cream at The Penny Ice Creamery in Santa Cruz :)
Yummy stuffed tomatoes I made this month (recipe here!)
Love this little babe.
I can’t wait for October to start tomorrow
so I can buy these in full force!!
Fun weekly nights with T&T ^^ Love these friends!
We took passport app photos this month, and had to match!
Soo many sweets this month…I’m afraid October will only be worse!
Some healthy fall veggies + salads thrown in though ^^
Haha ^^ results of teaching my dad how to use filters on snapchat.
He is hilarious with them and sends us so many daily!
This is when I was first teaching him how to
use the snap filters — hahaha he is the best.
So excited about these matching outfits, inspired by the
cold weather ^^ (there’s a bridge somewhere behind that fog!)
Homemade granola (Abby’s recipe that I’ll have to post…)
and mashed cauliflower in place of potatoes — pretty good!
I was trying to wait for October 1 to make my first batch
of pumpkin chocolate chippers, but this tree encouraged
me to bust them out a bit earlier. No one was mad about it!
Thanks for a great 30 days, September…
and see you in a few hours, October!
