belgian road trip: ghent & antwerp
we ended our belgian road trip by going through the towns of
ghent & antwerp. after brussels and bruges, i was excited to spend
some time in these other unique towns of belgium. ghent was a quick
stop on the way to antwerp where we stayed for a night before heading home!
it was a last-minute trip made even more fun by the spontaneity of the getaway.
with it’s endlessly charming streets, this country is perfect for a road trip!
this ^^ is how it looks pulling into ghent…pretty incredible!
we thought this town was gorgeous and also seemed very livable.
there were a lot of college students which gives it a fun vibe!
the canals going through holland and belgium are the best.
we were quick on our stop through ghent, but it was enough time to
stroll the sunny main canals and grab some quick lunch. (waffles :)
just a castle as you leave the town ^^
and onto antwerp we went! chase had some client meetings in this town,
so we stayed over a night and soaked up the gorgeous golden hour.it’s not quite there yet, but chase wanted a baby bump in belgium picture :)
there was almost no one out on this crisp chilly weeknight in antwerp.
we truly felt like we had the town to ourselves! the bells were chiming
and echoing through the empty streets as we just strolled around.
we ate at poule & poulette that night which we loved.
my best of belgium guide is in the works and posting asap!
as we packed up the last morning i couldn’t help but notice
how organized chase’s bag is?! who packs like this? ^^
by the end of a trip my bag looks very different.
we enjoyed a little rooftop sunshine before heading back to amsterdam!
i’m so glad we got a belgian road trip under our belt. highly recommended!
