magic shell on ice cream

thanks to chrissy teigen’s cravings book for bringing this easy magic into our lives! we all loved it and it made our quarantine feel a little special as we enter the third week. you should have the ingredients and the small amount of time it takes to make this happen! *Also, I halved this for our little crew and there was plenty, but if you want extra then this is good:

MAGIC SHELL on ice cream: 

— 8 oz (1.5 cups) semisweet chocolate, chopped. 

— 3/4 cup coconut oil 

— pinch of fine sea salt 

— and, ice cream! preferably vanilla bean but obviously works on so many kinds.

in a microwave  safe bowl, combine the chocolate and coconut oil and microwave in 15-second increments, stirring after each, until smooth (45 second to 1 minute total). let cool slightly to room temperature. serve on ice cream and see the shell form! store in fridge and gently melt for reuse.
