I’ve been wanting to stay at one of the Basecamp hotels for a while. ..
we finally headed to stay at the original Tahoe South one, and it
was such a fun spot! It’s a unique and fun spot with a great
atmosphere that will make you want to hang out there longer!
Best decor with a rustic outdoor vibe ^^
They give the best guide to the area complete with hikes, bike rides,
restaurants, rentals, etc. They list all the best stuff around!
We met my mom when we arrived, and my dad was flying in later.
It was so fun to reunite and of course my mom always brings the
cutest gifts for little Rea. Here she was opening her new book and toys!
We played in the “warm pool” our first night, perfect for kids because
they have a separate hot tub but this was the exact right temperature!
The rainy evening made it perfect for soaking in the warm tub :)
Walking around with Papa & Yaya!
I love the maps & quotes they have all over ^^
At night there is a fun beer garden attached to the hotel with live music,
food, drinks, games, etc. We don’t drink but we loved sitting up on top
of the balcony, overlooking the twinkly lights, listening to music,
playing cards, and eating their yummy bratwurst selection.
The menu only offers salads and all different kinds of bratwurst,
but it’s all so good! We were planning to go out but it got a little bit
rainy and we had just driven all day, so it was easy to stay right on
the hotel property and the food ended up being so great!
Magical setting! ^^
Next time I want to stay at the Tahoe City location and do a different part of the lake!
The only downside to the Tahoe South area is the Stateline and Casinos…but it’s still beautiful!
