BANFF National Park!

THE CANADIAN ROCKIES!
This place blew me away from the second I glimpsed it driving
in from Calgary. BANFF was like a combination of the Tetons
and Switzerland, two of my very favorite places on Earth…
making it basically a dream come true for me. I’ve wanted
to visit for a long time, and our 5 year anniversary was
the perfect reason to visit beautiful BANFF!

We took a LOT of pictures, so I’m separating things
into a few posts — this is mostly things we did near
the town of BANFF, and I’ll do another post of the
lakes and hikes we drove to in the park!
On top of the gondola, overlooking the most beautiful view
of the valley…it was the first thing we did when we arrived!
And driving in from Calgary ^^ I loved getting glimpses of the mountains!
Resting up on the way in after our flight ^^
We stopped at Buffalo Mountain Lodge on the way into
town for a “Mountain Aprés.” This local charcuterie
was almost too pretty to eat, but we managed :)
It was made up of elk, buffalo, prosciutto, smoked duck
breast, wild boar pâté, aged sylvan star gouda,
olives, pickles, and mustard melons (the BEST!)
This property was so pretty and right on the way into town.
Next time I want to stay in one of their cabins!
Pulling into cute downtown BANFF, where we stayed.
I found a good deal on BANFF Inn, and it ended up
being a cute little spot downtown. I don’t know quite what
I’d recommend for where to stay in the area, because I was
overwhelmed with the options for where to stay — between
big ski lodges, Airbnbs, bed & breakfasts, and the incredible
Fairmont properties, there are endless options all over! We
liked being central, but going back I might have stayed in a
few different parts of the park on different nights! Anyway,
I’ll put a little guide together soon and give more tips!
Our first order of business was taking the BANFF Gondola.
This was an absolute must to us — it was so incredible and
gave us a sense of the area and best view of the ranges.
This girl loved the gondola ride — wasn’t scared one bit!
^^ Happy girl in the mountains, just like her mama!
Taking in the views ^^
Enjoying the deck overlooking the mountains ^^

Heading back down the mountain just in time for a big storm to blow in…
(the gondola ride down was a litttttle bit scary due to that! :)
^^ Cutest girl peering out the window on the way down
We took a stroll through rainy town and got maple beaver tails
to celebrate making it off the mountain :) Just fried dough goodness!
Nothing better than little mountain towns! ^^  We ended the day at the Banff Hot Springs, which are really
casual but so nice to soak with those views! ^^^
We didn’t have her swimsuit with us but this little babe loved it! ^^
Bathed and zonked out in the hotel crib after a full day! ^^
The next morning we strolled the Bow River pathway and took in Bow Falls!
In front of the beautiful Fairmont Springs Hotel! ^^
Do you think she liked Bow River? ;)
One day we’ll have to come and stay here! ^^
But we did like our quaint little stay here ^^ :)
Yes, you sure are.
Our adventures continued through the park to the incredible
lakes and other hikes which I’ll post about next!
We loved you, BANFF!
