Pescadero Day with Mom

The best part about the Bay Area is that whenever we have visitors,
there is always somewhere new to explore and take them! My mom
came in town while Chase was away on business last week, and we
had a girls week having fun the three of us! We hung around and
relaxed/cooked/etc some of the days, but one of the days we had
a fun little escape to the coast to explore Pescadero! It has been on
my list forever. I’ve passed by it going up and down the coast, but
never stopped in the town or on the beaches right around here. I
knew this was the perfect time to go while my mom was in town!
Yay for a sunny day together at the beach! In case you’re planning
a visit to this area, here’s a little rundown of what we did:
We had a gorgeous drive through the Redwoods of Portola Valley
and wound down to the coast after breakfast at Alice’s. We stopped
off at Pescadero State Beach and also went to Bean Hollow State
Beach with all of the beautiful little pebbles. From there we went into
town and got lunch at Duartes (that artichoke soup & sourdough bread!)
had some olallieberry pie, and wandered the cute little shops of the town.
We drove over to Harley Goat Farm to play with the one-week old baby
goats and get some of their famous cheese (I can’t wait to come back here!)
Lastly we stopped in at the famous Arcangeli Grocery Co./ Norm’s Market
to pick up some of the amazing artichoke garlic herb bread. Now, pictures!

Nothing like glimpsing the coast ^^ How are we so lucky
to live 30 minutes from this coastline?!
Turning into Pescadero ^^
The cutest town!
Charm galore on the streets of this tiny town ^^
Darling farm shirts for sale ^^ My mom got me the cutest one!
I love clothes with a memory associated.
We worked up our appetites for Duarte’s Tavern to try the artichoke soup
(are you catching onto the artichoke theme in this area? :)
The soup was good, mostly for the amazing artichoke flavor.
It’s just a creamy and simple soup but fun to try in this
locally-grown artichoke area. The sourdough bread on
the side completes it all and is so good for dipping.
Cutest lunch companion ^^
I will NEVER say no to olallieberry pie with ice cream. Never ever. Favorite!
(It’s a locally-grown hybrid fruit that is tart and sweet and to-die-for)!
Onto the GOAT FARM which was a DREAM!
Harley is done so right. It’s darling and charming
and clean and filled with baby goats and incredible
cheese and honey and happiness. They do events
here (farm dinners, dances, tours, etc) so I plan
to make this place a tradition for our little family.
After this charming goat farm, we stopped back by
Arcangeli to get some snacks for the road…
^^ The famed artichoke garlic bread. Don’t miss it!
We also picked up a mini olallieberry pie here.
Next time we’ll have to do one of their sandwiches for lunch!
Lastly, to the beach for a walk before getting back in the car ^^
I love these two!!!!!
This is the Bean Hollow State Beach with all of the tiny pebbles.
It’s beautiful and so unique! I could have sat there all day running
my hands through these smooth little rocks. I’ve been on beaches
made up of bigger pebbles/rocks, but never one so tiny. It’s hard to
tell from the photo, but these pebbles are almost the size of sand!
The cutest smiles ^^
I had to nurse baby in the car before we headed on the drive home,

so my mom decided to soak up some sun while waiting…haha! ^^
I was laughing so hard at this sight from the car.
We loved this Pescadero day and plan to return!
If you live in the Bay, put this at the top of your to-do list!

I love Pescadero so much! It’s a perfect mix of touristy stuff and authentic small town. Arcangeli’s sandwiches are my favorite–we always take them out back to the cute little picnic are and eat under the apple trees! I’m glad you guys had a great day. :)
