Rigby fam visits Amsterdam!
We just got Chase’s family visiting here in Amsterdam for a week!
We are so happy they fit it in and made it happen before we leave
while we’re still living here, because now they will always know
this Europe stage and be able to picture our little life here.
We spent time in Amsterdam and also went to Berlin + Prague
this week, so it was a jam packed time. I can’t wait to share more
from Germany and CZ, but here are some Amsty photos to begin!^^ Anxiously awaiting our visitors at the airport,
and on the train back into the city center. Yay! ^^They brought some Easter treats from the U.S. for us…AMAZING ^^
… Plus girl scout cookies. We were definitely on a sugar high!
The first morning we strolled to brunch and along the Bloemenmarkt ^^
We stepped into the darling “Henri’s Little Cheese Museum”
for lots of samples & a demonstration on cheesemaking.
Everyone left with a block of the green pesto cheese after sampling it ^^
More tulips along the market ^^ It’s a shame you can’t bring the bulbs home through customs!
Haha, my cute mother-in-law in her Dutch clogs ^^
We strolled plenty of markets, from Nieuwmarkt to Noordermarkt ^^
I set up a free walking tour for us through Amsterdam, (just based on
tips) and we LOVED it! You just reserve a spot on this site. Our guide
was great and took us through really unique areas we hadn’t been to!
We did the canal cruise on a rainy afternoon, and it lulled some of us to sleep ;)
^^ Our tour took us past the smallest house in Amsterdam – so cute!
Rembrandt House ^^
Chase’s mom has the grandkids call her Mimi, so we had to snap a
picture at this cute shop. Soon she’ll be Mimi to our little one!
We missed our other sis-in-law Rach!!
So fun to be together and pregnant at the same time with Chase’s sister ^^
She is due right after us, and they are both girls!!
We had some grey weather during their visit, but it didn’t stop us!
It gave us even more excuse to stop in for Dutch Apple pie when we were cold ^^
We finally made it to the Maritime Museum, which the boys especially loved.
We had to take them for Dutch pancakes and poffertjes.
In case you’re wondering whether we liked our pancake breakfast…
So fun to spend time with Tay & Kenz and get them to ourselves! ^^
Love seeing Chase and his mom together!
We realized it has been almost a year since we’ve seen them,
since we were in Salt Lake last spring and then moved over here.
The girls went to the purse museum which was the best little outing ^^We had an authentic Dutch dinner at Moeders which was the greatest place! I’m
sharing more about it soon, but it is definitely the place for a taste of the Netherlands.
We crammed all 6 of us into our Amsterdam place thanks to the sofa
bed and air mattress (Chase almost passed out blowing this up – ha!)
We loved showing Chase’s family our Amsterdam life.
Thanks for coming all the way here!!
