sunday dinner with friends {+ popover recipe}
one big thing we miss about home is sunday dinner..
it’s always been our favorite time to be with our families and eat the best food, so now that we live
in california we just have to bring the party to us! my mom is the best hostess in the world and you always
know you’ll be well fed when you go to her house..i hope maybe some of that has rubbed off on me, because i
want to be the same way! we’re lucky to have cute friends who will come over for sunday din and hang out with us.
it’s like our own little family out here!
this week we hosted, so i made a favorite recipe with chicken, 
broccoli, mushrooms and brown rice. {link here}
it was good, but not as good as my mom’s version!
the very best part of our meal was my new expirement:
i first had these at one of my bridal showers at the town club in salt lake city,
and i loved them. i thought they were so fancy and never dreamed of making
them. that is until i was glancing through my kitchenaid cookbook and stumbled
upon the recipe! it was cooking fate–i knew i had to make them! they are so so
easy and so delicious…and they are cute! {added bonus}. the ingredients
are simple and you probably have all of them on hand. you bake them a little
bit differently, but they will turn out great. make them in place of your next dinner roll!

they really turned out so yummy..i recommend & husband agrees!
the entire spread..complete with cherry cobbler and pie for dessert.
recipe for popovers:
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
place eggs, milk, butter, flour, and salt in mixer bowl. turn to speed 4 and beat for 15 seconds.
stop and scrape sides, then beat again at speed 4 for 15 seconds.
fill heavily greased & floured tins* half full with batter.
place in oven and then set heat to 450 degrees.
after 15 minutes of oven warming up to 450, reduce heat to 350 degrees and
bake 20-25 minutes more. remove from oven when they are puffed up and golden brown.
serve warm!
*it says to use custard baking cups or popover tins, but i love using my regular muffin tins. the 
only difference with the popover tins is that the base of the roll will be taller!
